How My Week Works Out!

How My Week Works Out!

Anyone serious about personal fitness will find the time to workout. Here is an overview of how I find the time to workout and prepare my meals. Whilst working full time dominates everyone’s week, health and fitness comes second for me. Even though it takes up the majority of my week outside of work, it is important that you all know it’s because of my love for it.

Let’s Start with Monday, this is by far my absolute favourite day of the week! There are several reasons why but I’ll focus on those related to health and fitness. Monday  is the start of a brand new week, a day to set new goals and also to reflect on how last week went. I recommend this for everyone to do; ask yourself if you achieved all you wanted to last week, congratulate yourself on what you could achieve but understand how it was made possible. Remember to thank the people who may have helped you to achieve your goals. Learn from anything that prevented you from an achievement and make this week better! Think about if you helped anyone else to achieve their goal too. Gratitude is key!

Every Monday I take my entire meal preparation to work. This is breakfast, snacks and lunch Monday to Friday! I head straight to the gym and enjoy the first work out of the week! I will have separate post dedicated to meal preparation in due course!

My Monday workout might be Yoga, a fitness class, or a low intensity free session where I’m just going with how I feel! As long as I am up, on the train by 6:30am, gym bag and meal prep in hand I’m good to go!

I leave the gym every Monday wide awake, re-energised, focused and ready to set new goals at my

place of work. As a BONUS I miss the Monday

madness that commuters face, I’m one of the first in
the office and I already know what I’m having for
breakfast! This is an almost fool proof approach I take to ensuing I get the most out of each week. I set the president for the following days to come, preparing my body clock and my mind set too!

Monday always ends with a quick gym bag re-pack, dinner with green tea and an EARLY NIGHT. I’m usually in bed, lights off, ready to sleep for 9pm.
Early nights and early mornings make me happy!

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
always run the same way! I'm on one of the first two running trains, drinking plenty of water on my way into London and mentally preparing for a bigger and better workout that the day before! When reviewing the data on my fitness watch, I do exactly that! Work harder each day! I chomp my way through my set meals during work and then I am home; to repack my gym bag, eat dinner, drink my green tea and more early nights. Each day I try
and increase the amount of water I drink. I may meet friends on a Thursday evening but ill still pack my gym bag when I get home.

I do tend to have a longer stretch at the end of Fridays workout.During the week I use my foam roller once or twice. I use it when talking to friends and family on the phone, watching TV or listening to music.

Saturday is REST DAY. I actually never set an alarm on a Saturday, I might wake at 6am or 1pm who actually knows! I think only my family truly understand this and accept that Saturday mornings are out of the question! Having a full
time job, gym every day balanced with
housework, a cat and a relationship I’m pretty tired by Saturday mornings! When I’m up... I order my food online ready for Sunday. Saturday nights are usually planned and a CHEAT MEAL happens for sure!

Sunday Morning I’m up at 6am without fail ready to prep like a boss! I’m usually finished by 10am / 11am depending what I cook or bake. Most Sundays I have plans and I’m out and about. However I always squeeze in a Sunday work out too! Making my 6th workout of the week. This is usually an at home HIIT, boot
camp in my garden or a run! If I’m out for the day I’m normally
home at 6pm to work out. Sunday evenings I will prep my bag for Monday morning and it all starts again!!!

So, in summary!
  • Lay your kit out.
  • Cook meals you will look forward to.
  • Take the time to recall last week
  • Set goals for the current week.
  • Prepare for next the up and coming week.
